Nan­cy Mace declines to say whether she would sup­port move to oust McCarthy

Rep. Nan­cy Mace (R‑SC) said Rep. Matt Gaetz (R‑FL) should fol­low through with his threat to oust House Speak­er Kevin McCarthy (R‑CA) if he is going to do it, but declined to say whether she would vote to remove the Repub­li­can leader.
“It hasn’t hap­pened yet, and I am not going to com­ment on con­jec­ture here. Either he is going to file it, or he’s not. If he’s going to do it, put his mon­ey where his mouth is,” Mace said Sun­day on ABC’s This Week.

Gaetz, who helped lead the unsuc­cess­ful effort to deny McCarthy the speak­er­ship, dou­bled down on his efforts to gath­er the votes to remove him from the posi­tion this week.
