Youngkin says he’s ‘impressed by the talent’ among GOP presidential candidates

Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R‑VA) once again deflected speculation that he’ll be a 2024 presidential candidate for the Republicans, saying he’s “impressed by the talent” among the GOP contenders and brought the focus back to legislative work in Virginia.
Youngkin boosted the Republicans vying to take on President Joe Biden in November 2024, emphasizing the wide-ranging backgrounds from the crowded field.

“I’m impressed by the talent on the stage,” Youngkin said on Fox and Friends on Monday. “We’ve got extraordinary governors. We’ve got folks that have led the nation in various ways — in foreign policy, that’s critical, and we have a former president.”
Youngkin said the Republican Party has “great talent,” adding a GOP candidate has to win to replace Biden, and the governor listed off a number of policies and actions he believes make up a failed presidency.
“I mean, the future of the nation is at stake,” Youngkin said. “We’ve watched what Joe Biden has done to the nation over the last few years. Our foreign policy is a disaster as we have an open border that is allowing our foreign enemies to come across unconstrained. We’ve been weak with Russia. We’ve been weak with China. We’ve watched our economy fall apart.”
