President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign is planning to counter the Republican debate in California next week with a strategy similar to the one deployed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This time, though, the effort will be led in part by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D‑CA).
In this capacity, Newsom will headline a call with reporters on Monday to set the tone for the week, along with Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D‑CA) and Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison.

The California governor will be in the area during the Republican debate in Simi Valley, where the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum is, joined by Harrison and Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez.
Biden campaign advisers are expecting the second debate to focus more on the economy, pointing to its host, Fox Business. The campaign plans to use this as an opportunity to compare “Bidenomics” with the Republican economic policies being espoused by candidates.
