Taylor Swift Prompts ‘Record-Breaking’ Voter Registration Sign-Ups With Instagram Post

Pop star Taylor Swift inspired a record-breaking number of fans to register to vote due to an Instagram post.
Vote.org told Insider that they had their largest National Voter Registration Day since 2020 on Tuesday and credit the success in part to Swift’s messaging. 
“Are you registered to vote yet? I’ve been so lucky to see so many of you guys at my US shows recently. I’ve heard you raise your voices, and I know how powerful they are. Make sure you’re ready to use them in our elections this year,” the singer said in an Instagram story. 
The 33-year-old singer included a link to Vote.org and noted that it takes less than two minutes to register. Swift currently has 272 million followers on the platform.
Vote.org noted that 35,252 people registered to vote and 157,041 eligible voters visited the site on Tuesday, representing a 22.5% jump in total registrations and a 115% increase among 18-year-olds compared to last year, Insider noted.
