Vivek Ramaswamy calls Biden’s upcom­ing trip to UAW pick­et a ‘smoke­screen’

Pres­i­den­tial hope­ful Vivek Ramaswamy mocked Pres­i­dent Joe Biden’s attempt to join in the Unit­ed Auto Work­ers’ protest.
“Biden’s trip to ‘protest’ in Michi­gan is a smoke­screen to deflect real­i­ty & the UAW strike is just a symp­tom of the deep­er prob­lem: a tri­fec­ta of ris­ing prices + ris­ing inter­est rates + stag­nant wages,” Ramaswamy wrote on X, for­mer­ly known as Twit­ter, Sat­ur­day.

Biden announced this week he will trav­el to Detroit, Michi­gan, on Tues­day to pick­et along­side UAW mem­bers who have been on strike for more than a week. This comes after UAW Pres­i­dent Shawn Fain invit­ed the pres­i­dent Fri­day morn­ing to come to Detroit. Act­ing Labor Sec­re­tary Julie Su and White House advis­er Gene Sper­ling had plans to trav­el to Detroit ear­li­er in the week before can­cel­ing their trip.
