House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R‑CA) is expected to give an update on the looming government shutdown and ongoing impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.
McCarthy is set to begin shortly after 8 p.m., and his comments come on the same day witnesses were announced in the investigation. McCarthy faces a Sept. 30 deadline to pass spending legislation to avoid a government shutdown.
