Iowa set to host a fren­zy of 2024 Repub­li­can pres­i­den­tial cam­paign activ­i­ty

The first wisps of cold prairie wind will blow through Iowa in Octo­ber, accom­pa­nied by a swarm of 2024 Repub­li­can pres­i­den­tial can­di­dates.
Democ­rats have ban­ished the Hawk­eye State from their ear­ly vot­ing cal­en­dar. Though it does­n’t much mat­ter, with Pres­i­dent Joe Biden fac­ing only token pri­ma­ry oppo­si­tion from new age author Mar­i­anne Williamson and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the polit­i­cal scion whose con­spir­a­cy the­o­ry ram­blings range from COVID-19 vac­cines to the 9/11 ter­ror­ist attacks.

The GOP pri­ma­ry field, how­ev­er, is quite active in Iowa ahead of the state’s Jan. 15, 2024, cau­cus­es, which will begin the par­ty’s nom­i­nat­ing process. For­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump, the field leader, dips into Iowa for events from time to time.
Would-be Trump rivals are much more active there with cam­paign events, like Gov. Ron DeSan­tis (R‑FL) and biotech entre­pre­neur Vivek Ramaswamy. Same with Repub­li­can hope­fuls Gov. Doug Bur­gum (R‑ND) and for­mer New Jer­sey Gov. Chris Christie, a one­time Trump boost­er who has since spurned the 2017–21 White House occu­pant.
