Vivek Ramaswamy says gov­ern­ment shut­down is ‘a fake and arti­fi­cial debate’

Pres­i­den­tial hope­ful Vivek Ramaswamy mocked the impend­ing gov­ern­ment shut­down some hours before the fund­ing dead­line.
Ramaswamy appeared on Fox News’s Cavu­to Live on Sat­ur­day to com­ment on the debate on fund­ing the gov­ern­ment. Among the mea­sures up for dis­cus­sion is aid to Ukraine, which the Repub­li­can can­di­date has staunch­ly opposed Unit­ed States involve­ment in the coun­try’s con­flict with Rus­sia.

“First, I want to say about the gov­ern­ment shut­down debate broad­ly, I think it’s a fake and arti­fi­cial debate if we’re being hon­est about it,” Ramaswamy said. “What hap­pens every time? The gov­ern­ment comes back, all the employ­ees get their back pay, and gen­er­al­ly, the gov­ern­ment comes back big­ger every time.”
