Jim Jordan Says First Move As Speaker Would Be To Help Israel

Rep. Jim Jor­dan (R‑OH) said on Sun­day that his first direc­tive, if elect­ed Speak­er of the House, would be in sup­port of Israel.
The law­mak­er made the pledge dur­ing an inter­view on Fox News as Israel goes to war with Hamas after the mil­i­tant group launched a sur­prise attack out of Gaza over the week­end.
“Sun­day Morn­ing Futures” anchor Maria Bar­tiro­mo said to Jor­dan, “Tell me what your first direc­tive would be as speak­er,” to which the Ohio Repub­li­can respond­ed, “to help the state of Israel.”

“There will be some res­o­lu­tion on the floor to sup­port the state of Israel,” Jor­dan said. He added that there will be con­sul­ta­tions with House For­eign Affairs Chair­man Michael McCaul (R‑TX) and the Sen­ate.
