Biden touts core infla­tion falling to two-year low: ‘Bide­nomics in action’

Pres­i­dent Joe Biden cel­e­brat­ed the Sep­tem­ber con­sumer price index on Thurs­day, high­light­ing core infla­tion falling to its low­est lev­el since Sep­tem­ber 2021.
Over­all infla­tion held steady at 3.7% year over year, accord­ing to data pub­lished Thurs­day morn­ing by the Bureau of Labor Sta­tis­tics, while core infla­tion, which sets aside ener­gy and food prices, fell to 4.1%, com­pared to 4.3% the month pri­or.

“This morn­ing’s report shows core infla­tion fell to its low­est lev­el in two years,” Biden wrote. “Over­all infla­tion is down by 60% from its peak at a time when unem­ploy­ment has remained below 4% for 20 months in a row, and the share of work­ing-age Amer­i­cans in the work­force is the high­est in 20 years.
