Stimulus update: Deadline to file taxes in 12 days for rebate of up to $400 in Virginia

Residents of Virginia have less than two weeks to file their state income tax returns to be eligible for a tax rebate of up to $400.
Taxpayers have 12 days until the Nov. 1 extended deadline to file their taxes in the Old Dominion. The deadline is the extension granted to Virginia residents who did not file their taxes by the usual May 1 deadline.

The state has said not all taxpayers in the state will be eligible for the rebate, but those with a tax liability are among those who will be eligible. The state has not provided taxpayer-specific eligibility at this time. The rebates will be worth up to $200 for individual filers and up to $400 for joint filers.
