DeSan­tis com­pares House to ‘chick­ens with their heads cut off’ as speak­er chaos con­tin­ues

Gov. Ron DeSan­tis (R‑FL) com­pared the cur­rent inabil­i­ty of the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives to func­tion with­out an elect­ed speak­er to “chick­ens with their heads cut off” as the cham­ber marks 21 days since it last had an elect­ed pre­sid­ing offi­cer.
The 2024 Repub­li­can pres­i­den­tial can­di­date said he does not believe the dys­func­tion of House Repub­li­cans is hurt­ing his cam­paign because he rep­re­sents “the anti­dote to the chaos.” The com­ment came while speak­ing to reporters in New Hamp­shire on Tues­day.
