Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has expressed hope that voters will try to find some “young blood” in the next presidential election, thinking it is “a little bit odd” that older people are the top candidates for 2024.
Schwarzenegger’s comment comes as former President Donald Trump, 77, is running for president again and is currently leading the Republican Party’s primary election despite competition from other candidates. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden, 80, is seeking reelection in 2024, setting up a potential rematch between him and Trump.

“I just hope that America finds some really young blood,” Schwarzenegger said in a new interview. “Because to me, it is a little bit odd that we are having a battle between people today in the late 70s and early 80s rather than people that in the 40s and 50s or maybe even younger and have them have a chance at this great, great job.”
