Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D‑CA) has argued that House Republicans do not believe in “governance” as the House continues its search for a speaker.
The search for the new speaker comes after the House voted on Oct. 3 to oust Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R‑CA) from the position, with eight Republican lawmakers joining the Democrats in voting to remove him. Since then, production in the House has stalled, as Congress is limited in what it can do until it finds a new speaker.

“They don’t believe in governance,” Pelosi told MSNBC. “Understand that. So this, for them, is not any break in the action. They don’t want any actions. This is it.”
