DeSan­tis Push­es Back On Calls For Gun Con­trol, Red Flag Laws: We ‘Need More Insti­tu­tion­al­iza­tion’

Flori­da Gov­er­nor Ron DeSan­tis pushed back on calls for red flag laws and oth­er gun con­trol laws in the wake of the shoot­ing in Maine this week, say­ing that he does not believe they are appro­pri­ate because they vio­late a person’s due process rights.
The Repub­li­can pres­i­den­tial can­di­date made the remarks dur­ing a CNN inter­view Thurs­day night with Kait­lan Collins on “The Source” after 18 peo­ple were killed and more than a dozen were injured in Maine after a men­tal­ly dis­turbed man opened fire at two loca­tions this week.
