President Joe Biden stated Saturday morning that he’s “grateful that Lewiston and surrounding communities are now safe” after mass shooting suspect Robert Card was found dead on Friday evening from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“This was a tragic two days for the families in Maine who have been devastated by gun violence,” Biden posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “At least eighteen souls brutally slain and more injured, and scores of family and friends praying and experiencing trauma no one ever wants to imagine.”
