Maine Shoot­ing: Lewis­ton mass shoot­ing sus­pect Robert Card’s body found in recy­cling trail­er

Robert Card, the sus­pect want­ed in con­nec­tion with Wednes­day’s mass shoot­ing that left 18 peo­ple dead and injured 13, was found dead Fri­day evening with a self-inflict­ed gun­shot wound.
Maine Depart­ment of Pub­lic Safe­ty Com­mis­sion­er Michael Sauschuck said dur­ing a Sat­ur­day morn­ing press con­fer­ence that Card’s body was dis­cov­ered around 7:45 p.m. Fri­day at the Maine Recy­cling Cor­po­ra­tion, locat­ed in Lis­bon Falls, where Card had an “employ­ment rela­tion­ship.”

The recy­cling cen­ter is locat­ed at 61 Cap­i­tal Ave, Lis­bon. Sauschuck said the Maine State Police tac­ti­cal team locat­ed Card’s body in an unlocked recy­cling trail­er. The main loca­tion had been cleared twice by the Lis­bon Police Depart­ment, Maine Police Chief Ryan McGee, and oth­er indi­vid­u­als.
Sauschuck cred­it­ed the own­er of the facil­i­ty for point­ing out addi­tion­al trail­ers across the street that still belong to the recy­cling cen­ter — those were not checked in ini­tial search­es.
