Hawaii cou­ple con­vict­ed of steal­ing and liv­ing under iden­ti­ties of dead babies

A cou­ple in Hawaii was con­vict­ed Mon­day on mul­ti­ple charges after they stole and lived under the iden­ti­ties of dead babies for decades.
Bob­by Fort and Julie Mon­tague, whose real names are  Wal­ter Glenn Prim­rose and Gwynn Dar­le Mor­ri­son, were found guilty of con­spir­a­cy, pass­port fraud, and iden­ti­ty theft after the Unit­ed States Dis­trict Court jury delib­er­at­ed for two hours, accord­ing to a report.

The pair had attempt­ed to argue that their actions did not con­sti­tute harm.
Fort and Mon­tague are the pre­ferred names of the cou­ple, but the real Bob­by Fort has been dead for over five decades, accord­ing to the report.
He had died at three months old from a bad cough, accord­ing to Assis­tant U.S. Attor­ney Tom Muehleck.
The real Julie Mon­tague report­ed­ly died after three weeks of life in 1968 after she was born with birth defects.
Both deceased infants were buried 15 miles apart in Texas before Prim­rose and Mor­ri­son stole their iden­ti­ties due to debt, Muehleck said.
