House pass­es Israel aid pack­age, but it is dead on arrival in the Sen­ate

The House passed its multi­bil­lion-dol­lar Israel aid pack­age on Thurs­day, advanc­ing the leg­is­la­tion that Pres­i­dent Joe Biden has already threat­ened to veto and Sen­ate Major­i­ty Leader Chuck Schumer (D‑NY) has said will be dead on arrival in the Sen­ate.
The $14.3 bil­lion aid pack­age is intend­ed to aid Israel as it defends itself against an inva­sion by the Hamas ter­ror­ist group that start­ed ear­li­er this month. The bill passed 226–196, with 12 Democ­rats vot­ing for the bill to help push it across the fin­ish line. Two Repub­li­cans vot­ed against it.
