John­son sends fundrais­ing refus­ing to ‘put peo­ple over pol­i­tics’

Speak­er Mike John­son (R‑LA) sent an email this week in an effort to fundraise but grabbed atten­tion for seem­ing­ly mistyp­ing a com­mon phrase.
“I refuse to put peo­ple over pol­i­tics,” the email read in a bold, under­lined font. “Which is why I need your help. Repub­li­cans have been tasked with get­ting this coun­try back on track, but the clock is tick­ing. Can you step for­ward with a dona­tion today?”

John­son is fresh from his elec­tion to speak­er of the House and proud­ly called him­self the “next boogey­man” to the “lib­er­al media” that is, accord­ing to him, putting “Amer­i­cans LAST” where he claims to be putting “Amer­i­cans FIRST.”
The Wash­ing­ton Exam­in­er reached out to John­son’s office for clar­i­fi­ca­tion on the email.
