Social Secu­ri­ty update: Direct pay­ment worth $914 arrives in 27 days

Mil­lions of Sup­ple­men­tal Secu­ri­ty Income ben­e­fi­cia­ries will receive the first of two Decem­ber SSI pay­ments from the Social Secu­ri­ty Admin­is­tra­tion, which are worth up to $914 for indi­vid­ual fil­ers, in 27 days.
The first round of pay­ments will go out on Fri­day, Dec. 1, and the sec­ond will go out on Fri­day, Dec. 29, because of a kink in the admin­is­tra­tion’s cal­en­dar. The sec­ond pay­ment will take the place of Jan­u­ary’s pay­ment because Jan. 1, 2024, is a hol­i­day.

In order to qual­i­fy for the pay­ments, recip­i­ents need to be at least 65 years old and meet cer­tain finan­cial require­ments.
