Demo­c­ra­t­ic Par­ty elders sound the alarm on Biden

An increas­ing num­ber of promi­nent Democ­rats are grow­ing skep­ti­cal of 80-year-old Pres­i­dent Joe Biden’s reelec­tion chances in 2024, par­tic­u­lar­ly fol­low­ing new polling data pro­ject­ing him to lose to for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump in sev­er­al key states.
Biden and his cam­paign team have large­ly staved off sig­nif­i­cant pub­lic intra­party crit­i­cism and chal­lenges, but as the elec­tions grow clos­er and the pres­i­dent fails to improve in pro­jec­tions against Trump, some are sound­ing the alarm.
BIDEN STEERS CLEAR OF VIRGINIA BEFORE BELLWETHER ELECTION
David Axel­rod, once the senior advis­er to for­mer Pres­i­dent Barack Oba­ma, called on Biden to make a deci­sion on Sun­day.
“If he con­tin­ues to run, he will be the nom­i­nee of the Demo­c­ra­t­ic Par­ty. What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; whether it’s in HIS best inter­est or the coun­try’s?” he asked, cit­ing the New York Times/Siena Col­lege polling.
