Social Security update: Direct payment worth $914 arrives in 25 days

Millions of Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries will receive the first of two December SSI payments from the Social Security Administration, which are worth up to $914 for individual filers, in 25 days.
The first round of payments will go out on Dec. 1, 2023, and the second will go out on Dec. 29 because of a kink in the administration’s calendar. The second payment will take the place of January’s because Jan. 1 is always a holiday. Dec. 30–31 are on a weekend this year.
