For­mer House Demo­c­rat tells Biden ‘right thing to do’ is to drop out of 2024 race

For­mer Demo­c­ra­t­ic Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan said Pres­i­dent Joe Biden should do the right thing and drop out of the 2024 race.
Ryan, appear­ing on CNN on Mon­day, said he is “wor­ried” about Biden’s elec­toral chances against for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump after a New York Times-Siena Col­lege poll showed Biden trail­ing Trump in five of six swing states a year out from the elec­tion. The for­mer con­gress­man called on Biden to for­go run­ning and said the same for Trump.

“I don’t think Trump should run. I don’t think Pres­i­dent Biden should run. We have tal­ent in the Demo­c­ra­t­ic Par­ty. There are some lead­ers in the Repub­li­can Par­ty who are will­ing to take on the insur­rec­tion­ists and take on Trump, and I think those can­di­dates should be con­sid­ered as well, but the whole coun­try wants to move on,” Ryan said.
