Social Security update: Direct payment worth $914 arrives in 23 days

Millions of Supplemental Security Income recipients will see the first of two December SSI payments from the Social Security Administration in 23 days. The payments are worth up to $914 for individual filers.
The first round of payments will go out on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, and the second will go out on Friday, Dec. 29, because of a kink in the administration’s calendar. The Dec. 29 payment will take the place of January’s because Jan. 1 is a holiday and Dec. 30 and Dec. 31 are on a weekend.
