Social Secu­ri­ty update: First round of direct pay­ments worth up to $4,555 arrives Wednes­day

Mil­lions of retired seniors received the first round of Novem­ber’s Social Secu­ri­ty pay­ments, worth up to $4,555 for peo­ple who retired at 70, on Wednes­day.
Retirees who were born between the 1st and 10th of their birth month received the ini­tial wave of retire­ment pay­ments on Wednes­day. Peo­ple born from the 11th through 31st of any month will receive their month­ly check dur­ing one of the two lat­er waves of dis­tri­b­u­tion this month, which go out on Nov. 15 and 22.

The Social Secu­ri­ty Admin­is­tra­tion sends out pay­ments in three dis­burse­ments. They go out on the sec­ond, third, and fourth Wednes­days of each month, but each recip­i­ent just gets one check. The dis­burse­ment dates are divid­ed into three 10-day peri­ods.
