It was just a brief state­ment, but said so much about Joe Scar­bor­ough’s sep­a­ra­tion from real­i­ty. On today’s Morn­ing Joe, Scar­bor­ough said:

You look at — unfor­tu­nate­ly on col­lege cam­pus­es, some of the twist­ed views about Hamas. That ain’t com­ing from law pro­fes­sors or his­to­ry pro­fes­sors. It’s com­ing straight off of social media. So it’s a bat­tle that needs to be waged, a bat­tle for ideas.”

What? Twist­ed pro-Hamas views are not com­ing from pro­fes­sors?
Let’s start with my alma mater of Cor­nell, where Rus­sell Rick­ford, a his­to­ry pro­fes­sor, said at a Pro-Pales­tin­ian ral­ly that he found the Hamas attack “exhil­a­rat­ing” and “ener­giz­ing.”
Then there’s Yale pro­fes­sor Zareena Gre­w­al, who on the day of the Hamas slaugh­ter of civil­ians tweet­ed that “Israel is a mur­der­ous, geno­ci­dal, set­tler state and Pales­tini­ans have every right to resist through armed strug­gle.”
Stay­ing in the Ivy League, let’s not for­get Pro­fes­sor Joseph Mas­sad at Colum­bia, who hailed the Hamas attack as “aston­ish­ing,” “asto …
