“After Death stands as the highest-grossing documentary to grace the big screen since 2019, a testament to Angel Studios’s disruptive track record,” Brandon Purdie, Head of Theatrical for Angel Studios, told the Washington Examiner. “Once more, we’ve partnered with valued exhibitors to rekindle the passion of audiences who haven’t visited the cinema in years.”
The film has earned an A- rating from CinemaScore and an 88% Rotten Tomatoes Audience score.
The film explores what happens after death, based on people’s near-death experiences, including the perspectives of scientists and survivors.
Director Stephen Gray spent more than six years exploring people’s stories about death, which culminated in the creation of the film.
“For skeptics, my hope is that this film opens the door to begin to ask important questions,” Gray told the Washington Examiner.
