Biden says Trump rhetoric echoes Nazi Ger­many: ‘He shouldn’t be pres­i­dent’

SAN FRANCISCO — Pres­i­dent Joe Biden ripped for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump for describ­ing his polit­i­cal oppo­nents as “ver­min,” remind­ing donors it is not the first time his like­ly 2024 chal­lenger has ref­er­enced Nazi Ger­many.
“In just the last few days, Trump has said [if he] returns office he’s gonna go after all those who oppose him and wipe out what he called the ver­min in Amer­i­ca, quote the ‘ver­min’ in Amer­i­ca — a spe­cif­ic phrase because it’s just a spe­cif­ic mean­ing,” Biden said dur­ing a fundrais­er Tues­day host­ed by Gov. Gavin New­som (D‑CA) in San Fran­cis­co on the side­lines of the Asia-Pacif­ic Eco­nom­ic Coop­er­a­tion forum.
