Eric Adams dances around NYC laws with fund to help pay legal fees in cor­rup­tion inves­ti­ga­tion

Demo­c­ra­t­ic New York City May­or Eric Adams has set up a legal defense fund amid an inquiry into his 2021 may­oral cam­paign by fed­er­al inves­ti­ga­tors.
The Eric Adams Legal Defense Trust will allow the may­or to col­lect dona­tions to pay for legal bills in accor­dance with New York City laws. The fund will allow Adams to accept dona­tions of up to $5,000, with the names and address­es of any con­trib­u­tor giv­ing $100 sub­ject to a quar­ter­ly report by the Con­flicts of Inter­est Board.
