Few politi­cians say things that immor­tal­ize their words. Abra­ham Lin­coln was a notable excep­tion.
The 16th president’s com­ment about fool­ing vot­ers res­onates today: “ You can fool some of the peo­ple all of the time, and all of the peo­ple some of the time, but you can­not fool all of the peo­ple all of the time.”
That wise state­ment is becom­ing increas­ing­ly evi­dent as we head into the 2024 pres­i­den­tial elec­tion.
