Fet­ter­man claims Menen­dez’s crimes are ‘more sin­is­ter’ than George San­tos’s

Sen. John Fet­ter­man (D‑PA) claimed he was not sur­prised for­mer New York GOP Rep. George San­tos was removed from the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives on Fri­day but that it should be a warn­ing sign for a sen­a­tor who is doing “more sin­is­ter” crimes.
Fet­ter­man said Sen. Bob Menen­dez (D‑NJ) is more of a sen­a­tor for Egypt than he is for New Jer­sey after Menen­dez was accused of vio­lat­ing the For­eign Agents Reg­is­tra­tion Act through his work on behalf of the gov­ern­ment of Egypt with­out reg­is­ter­ing as a for­eign agent. Fet­ter­man has led the charge in get­ting the sen­a­tor removed from Con­gress.
“Sen. Menen­dez needs to go, and if you are going to expel San­tos, how can you allow some­body like Menen­dez to remain in the Sen­ate?” Fet­ter­man asked on ABC’s The View on Fri­day. “He has the right for his day in court and all that, but he doesn’t have the right to have those kinds of votes and things that — that’s not a right. And I think we need to make that kind of deci­sion to send him out.”
