Mike John­son, Chris­t­ian nation­al­ism are ‘great­est threats’ to US: James Carville

Demo­c­ra­t­ic strate­gist James Carville referred to Rep. Mike John­son (R‑LA) and Chris­t­ian nation­al­ism as threats “that are big­ger than al-Qae­da” on Fri­day.
Carville was a guest on Real Time with Bill Maher when the host asked him about John­son’s abil­i­ty to hold the Repub­li­can Par­ty togeth­er in the House. The GOP holds a slim major­i­ty, and John­son is the first Speak­er of the House to hail from Louisiana, Carville’s home state. In response, the Demo­c­ra­t­ic strate­gist said he did not think John­son would hold the par­ty togeth­er and went even fur­ther in his polit­i­cal analy­sis of the speak­er.

“Mike John­son, and what he believes, is one of the great­est threats we have today to the Unit­ed States, I promise you,” Carville said. “I know these peo­ple.”
