White House side­steps ques­tion about Biden dump­ing ‘Bide­nomics’ brand­ing

The White House insists Pres­i­dent Joe Biden is not recon­sid­er­ing the idea of “Bide­nomics” despite not using the term in more than a month.
“When he talks about the econ­o­my, that is Bide­nomics,” press sec­re­tary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Thurs­day. “When he talks about what we’re doing and how we’re deliv­er­ing for the Amer­i­can peo­ple, that is Bide­nomics.”

Jean-Pierre cit­ed last week’s gross domes­tic prod­uct report that found the econ­o­my grew by 5.2%, with con­sumer prices flat in Octo­ber com­pared to Sep­tem­ber but 3.2% high­er than a year ago.
“He had signs just behind him last week that said ‘Bide­nomics,’ ” she said. “You’ve heard me, as you just stat­ed, and many oth­er White House offi­cials talk about how Bide­nomics is indeed low­er­ing costs.”
When pushed on the dif­fer­ence between their sun­ny rhetoric regard­ing the econ­o­my and pub­lic opin­ion, Jean-Pierre repeat­ed prices were decreas­ing after 40-year high infla­tion.
