Bill Maher sug­gests Biden bow out at DNC after he ‘stayed too long at the fair’

Talk show host Bill Maher shared his opin­ion Fri­day that Pres­i­dent Joe Biden should remain a one-term pres­i­dent and drop out of the 2024 race dur­ing the Demo­c­ra­t­ic Nation­al Con­ven­tion.
Maher made ref­er­ence to his nick­name for the pres­i­dent, “Ruth Bad­er Biden,” dur­ing his Fri­day episode of Real Talk with Bill Maher. He has used the nick­name to imply Biden won’t leave office in a man­ner sim­i­lar to the late Supreme Court Jus­tice Ruth Bad­er Gins­burg, who died in office in 2020 rather than resign­ing under a Demo­c­ra­t­ic pres­i­dent and was then replaced by Jus­tice Amy Coney Bar­rett, a Trump nom­i­nee.
“I said he was going to be the Ruth Bad­er Gins­burg of pres­i­den­tial pol­i­tics,” Maher said of Biden. “He stayed too long at the fair.”
