House Democrat Promises To Legislate Trump Off The Ballot After SCOTUS Decision

In the wake of Monday’s unan­i­mous Supreme Court rul­ing, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D‑MD) promised to “revive leg­is­la­tion” that would pre­vent any­one guilty of par­tic­i­pat­ing in an “insur­rec­tion” from run­ning for pres­i­dent.
The rul­ing came after three states — Col­orado, Maine, and Illi­nois — declared for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump inel­i­gi­ble to appear on pri­ma­ry bal­lots, cit­ing Sec­tion 3 (the insur­rec­tion clause) of the 14th Amend­ment.
