Rep. Nan­cy Pelosi (D‑CA) react­ed to for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump’s pre­dic­tion that the auto­mo­bile indus­try will under­go a “blood­bath” if he’s not reelect­ed.
Pelosi appeared on State of the Union Sun­day, where she was asked what she thought about Trump receiv­ing intel­li­gence brief­in­gs. In answer­ing the ques­tion, Pelosi brought up Trump’s speech in Day­ton, Ohio, when he dis­par­aged elec­tric vehi­cles and made cam­paign promis­es to main­tain the auto indus­try should he be reelect­ed. Trump promised to put a 100% tar­iff on Chi­nese-made cars before he said, “Now if I don’t get elect­ed, it’s going to be a blood­bath.”
The for­mer House speak­er said Democ­rats “have to win this elec­tion because he‘s even pre­dict­ing a blood­bath. What does that mean? He’s going to exact a blood­bath?
