Biden ‘strong­ly sup­ports’ House GOP’s Ukraine and Israel aid plans

Pres­i­dent Joe Biden has giv­en his bless­ing to a new nation­al secu­ri­ty sup­ple­men­tal aid pack­age.
“I strong­ly sup­port this pack­age to get crit­i­cal sup­port to Israel and Ukraine, pro­vide des­per­ate­ly need­ed human­i­tar­i­an aid to Pales­tini­ans in Gaza, and bol­ster secu­ri­ty and sta­bil­i­ty in the Indo-Pacif­ic,” the pres­i­dent said Wednes­day in a pre­pared state­ment. “Israel is fac­ing unprece­dent­ed attacks from Iran, and Ukraine is fac­ing con­tin­ued bom­bard­ment from Rus­sia that has inten­si­fied dra­mat­i­cal­ly in the last month.”
The House released the text of its pro­pos­als to pro­vide for­eign aid to coun­tries includ­ing Ukraine and Israel, tee­ing the leg­is­la­tion up for a vote in the low­er cham­ber on Sat­ur­day evening.
