Harvard Names DEI Advocate To Key Role In Presidential Search

Har­vard Uni­ver­si­ty has named a lead­ing advo­cate for Diver­si­ty, Equi­ty, and Inclu­sion (DEI) prac­tices to a top role with sig­nif­i­cant influ­ence in choos­ing the university’s next pres­i­dent.
On Mon­day, Vivian Hunt, who grad­u­at­ed from Har­vard in 1989, was tapped to serve as the next pres­i­dent of the university’s Board of Over­seers, accord­ing to the Har­vard Crim­son. Hunt has sat on the board since 2019. Tra­di­tion­al­ly, the university’s pres­i­den­tial search com­mit­tees are com­posed of the 12 mem­bers of the Har­vard Cor­po­ra­tion and the pres­i­dent of the Board of Over­seers.
