Progressives lay out wish list to save voting bloc Biden is bleeding

Top pro­gres­sives in the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives laid out the agen­da they will push if Democ­rats win con­trol of the low­er cham­ber in the 2024 elec­tion.
The Con­gres­sion­al Pro­gres­sive Cau­cus out­lined sev­en pol­i­cy ideas for the 119th Con­gress should they regain con­trol of the House. For pro­gres­sives who have been at odds with Pres­i­dent Joe Biden over his han­dling of the Israel-Hamas war, the out­line serves as a mes­sage to Biden about how he can win back young and pro­gres­sive vot­ers.
“If the pro­gres­sive base is not excit­ed and enthu­si­as­tic, and if they don’t feel like we are try­ing to earn their votes and that they are impor­tant, then I think the hor­rif­ic idea of a sec­ond Don­ald Trump pres­i­den­cy could become real­i­ty,” Pro­gres­sive Cau­cus Chair­woman Prami­la Jaya­pal (D‑WA) said, per NBC News. “We can­not afford to let that hap­pen. And we won’t.”
