Cheney: Supreme Court should conclude Trump has ‘no immunity’

For­mer Wyoming Repub­li­can Rep. Liz Cheney said Mon­day the Supreme Court should find for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump has “no immu­ni­ty” from pros­e­cu­tion and that any delay of his fed­er­al tri­al will have a “pro­found­ly neg­a­tive impact.”
“If delay pre­vents this Trump case from being tried this year, the pub­lic may nev­er hear crit­i­cal and his­tor­i­cal evi­dence devel­oped before the grand jury, and our sys­tem may nev­er hold the man most respon­si­ble for Jan. 6 to account,” Cheney, who is one of Trump’s biggest crit­ics on the Right, wrote in a New York Times op-ed.
