Melissa McCarthy reacted to the backlash against Barbra Streisand after the singer asked McCarthy if she was taking “Ozempic” to lose weight in a since-deleted Instagram post.
In a fun video posted on Instagram, the 53-year-old actress broke her silence about Streisand’s comment while appearing to read a copy of “Barbra: Celebrating an Icon.” She captioned the post, “Barbra Streisand fan club members only!!!”
“The takeaway, Barbra Streisand knows I exist,” McCarthy told her followers in the clip. “She reached out to me and she thought I looked good!”
“I win the day,” she added, while appearing to go back to reading the Streisand book.
The “Bridesmaids” star’s comments came after Streisand was slammed for asking McCarthy if she had joined the celebrity fad in taking “Ozempic” for weight loss, as previously reported.
In the comments section underneath a picture the “Ghostbusters” star posted of herself, the 82-year-old singer wrote, “Give [Shankman] my regards, did you take Ozempic?”
