With 10 Senate seats up for reelection in November, Republicans have a good chance at winning at least six states, making this the GOP’s most favorable Election Day map in a decade.
However, after the GOP failed to win majority control in 2020 and in 2022 despite favorable conditions, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R‑KY) is narrowing his party’s focus to picking up seats in four states.
“You take polls around Labor Day and begin to decide where you’re going to play,” McConnell said in an interview with Politico. “But we know where we’re going to play for sure right now: Montana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland.”
