Democrat Henry Cuellar Indicted In Federal Corruption Investigation

Rep. Hen­ry Cuel­lar (D‑TX) and his wife were indict­ed by the U.S. Depart­ment of Jus­tice on Fri­day for alleged­ly tak­ing hun­dreds of thou­sands of dol­lars in bribes from two for­eign enti­ties.
The 68-year-old con­gress­man was charged along with his wife, Imel­da Cuel­lar, 67, with par­tic­i­pat­ing in two alleged schemes involv­ing bribery, unlaw­ful for­eign influ­ence, and mon­ey laun­der­ing, the DOJ said in a state­ment.
