An incident during the New York Police Department’s raid at Columbia University is under review after an officer accidentally fired his weapon.
The shot was fired when police entered Hamilton Hall, which had been taken over by pro-Palestinian protesters. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office spokesman Doug Cohen confirmed to the City in a statement that the Police Accountability Unit is investigating the incident.

It added that no one was hurt by the shot and that no students were around when it was fired.
A spokesperson for the NYPD explained that the officer who fired the shot was using the flashlight equipped on a gun to illuminate his path when he accidentally fired the weapon. The shot ricocheted off of a wall but did not harm anyon …
