Trump outpacing Biden in voter trust ahead of 2024 election: Poll

New polling shows vot­ers have greater trust in for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump over Pres­i­dent Joe Biden to han­dle sev­er­al key con­cerns head­ing into the 2024 elec­tion.
While a new ABC News/Ipsos poll shows Biden and Trump are still neck-and-neck, Trump leads Biden con­cern­ing the three top­ics list­ed as most impor­tant to vot­ers: the econ­o­my, infla­tion, and safe­ty from crime.
Sun­day marks the six-month count­down from the upcom­ing pres­i­den­tial elec­tion, which is sched­uled to be held on Nov. 5. Trump and Biden are expect­ed to run against each oth­er for a sec­ond time, as Trump is cur­rent­ly the pre­sump­tive nom­i­nee for the Repub­li­can Par­ty.
As it stands, the sur­vey found among all its recip­i­ents that 46% are plan­ning to vote for Trump, ver­sus 44% who say they’re plan­ning to vote for Biden. Mean­while, 46% of reg­is­tered vot­ers said they are plan­ning to vote for Biden, just ahead of the 45% who plan to vote for Trump.
In addi­tion to the econ­o­my, infla­tion, and crime, oth­er top­ics vot­ers indi­cat­ed greater trust in Trump regard­ing include immi­gra­tion along the south­ern bor­der, gun vio­lence, the country’s stand­ing in the world, and the war between Israel and the Hamas ter­ror­ist group.
