Mace con­fused why MTG is push­ing motion to vacate vote: ‘I don’t know why she’s doing this’

Rep. Nan­cy Mace (R‑SC) is unsure of why Rep. Mar­jorie Tay­lor Greene (R‑GA) is push­ing for­ward a doomed motion to vacate against House Speak­er Mike John­son (R‑LA).
Mace, who was one of the eight Repub­li­cans who vot­ed to oust for­mer Speak­er Kevin McCarthy from the speak­er­ship in Octo­ber, said Mon­day on Newsmax’s Wake Up Amer­i­ca that the House GOP should be focused on uni­ty and ques­tioned why Greene was going for­ward.

“Now is the time to bring the par­ty togeth­er. We’ve been through a lot of chal­lenges over the last six months, and we’ve over­come those chal­lenges, and we need to unite togeth­er so that we can win the White House. We need to help Don­ald Trump win the White House,” Mace said. “We need to help Mike John­son keep the major­i­ty, and then, we need to flip the Sen­ate because that is the only way we can turn around the divi­sive­ness of the Left, the divi­sive­ness of the Demo­c­rat Par­ty, the divi­sive­ness of Joe Biden.
