Washington Examiner’s Salena Zito is top ‘Bulldog’ winner

Hats off to the Wash­ing­ton Examiner’s Sale­na Zito, who was cho­sen on Tues­day as the nation’s top “Bull­dog Awards” colum­nist.
In nam­ing Zito the country’s No. 1 colum­nist, the Media Research Cen­ter said, “The ‘Mid­dle Amer­i­ca-whis­per­er,’ relay­ing the views and pas­sions of the heart­land to those on the coasts. As she best explains her­self: ‘In my esti­ma­tion, there is no patch of geog­ra­phy in this coun­try that is the ‘mid­dle of nowhere.’ This is Amer­i­ca; every­where is the mid­dle of some­where.’”
Zito, who also writes for the New York Post and Pitts­burgh Post-Gazette and is a hot com­mod­i­ty on TV, uses her base in diverse Penn­syl­va­nia to find out what real Amer­i­ca is think­ing, espe­cial­ly as it read­ies for anoth­er pres­i­den­tial elec­tion.
