Wash­ing­ton Examiner’s Tiana Lowe Doesch­er calls infla­tion ‘the hid­den tax’ on vot­ers

The Wash­ing­ton Examiner’s Tiana Lowe Doesch­er point­ed to why infla­tion is hav­ing such a big impact on vot­ers and polls ahead of the 2024 elec­tion, call­ing it “the hid­den tax” in the Unit­ed States.
Doesch­er, a com­men­tary writer for the Wash­ing­ton Exam­in­er, point­ed to new polling data that show Pres­i­dent Joe Biden trail­ing for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump, the pre­sump­tive nom­i­nee for the Repub­li­can Par­ty, in sev­er­al bat­tle­ground states. Among these states is Neva­da, where Trump is at a dou­ble-dig­it lead with reg­is­tered vot­ers and like­ly vot­ers.
“And a lot of this is because even though Biden likes to boast about close to 50-year aver­age unem­ploy­ment, good stock mar­ket, the fact is that infla­tion is the hid­den tax on every­one,” Doesch­er said on Fox Business’s Cavu­to: Coast to Coast. “Under Trump, we had below 2% annu­al infla­tion every sin­gle year of his pres­i­den­cy. We’ve had a 19% increase in prices since Joe Biden took office, and there’s noth­ing that he’s doing to actu­al­ly address that.”
