Bernie Sanders admits Biden is ‘not pop­u­lar’ but says he’s ‘not run­ning against God’

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I‑VT) admit­ted that Pres­i­dent Joe Biden isn’t pop­u­lar among vot­ers but expressed his opin­ion that sup­port­ing him against for­mer Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump is nec­es­sary.
In an op-ed for the Guardian, Sanders shared his frus­tra­tions with the U.S. polit­i­cal sys­tem while call­ing 2024 a crit­i­cal moment in Amer­i­can his­to­ry, on par with the Civ­il War, the Great Depres­sion, and the attack on Pearl Har­bor. The key to tak­ing the cor­rect course dur­ing this crit­i­cal moment, accord­ing to the sen­a­tor, is to sup­port Biden in Novem­ber despite his prob­lems.
“Yes. I know. Biden is not pop­u­lar and many pro­gres­sives, includ­ing me, strong­ly dis­agree with his poli­cies regard­ing Israel and this dis­as­trous war in Gaza,” Sanders wrote.
